Abstract

CD40 ligand (CD40L),a member of the tumor necrosis factor superfamily, mainly activates costimulatory molecules on T cell surface, especially CD4+ T cells.CD40L plays an important role in immune response in human through the interaction between CD40L and its receptor CD40.This paper discusses the structure and function of CD40L and its application in viral DNA vaccine and tumor therapy. Key words: CD40 ligand; Adjuvants, immunologic; Vaccines,DNA; Neoplasms; Therapeutic uses
