Abstract

It is important to understand the patterns of two-phase flow in human nasal cavity in exploring the relationship between the structure and function of the nasal cavity and the nasal pathology knowledge. CFD is more and more popular in the study of airflow and particle deposition in human nasal cavity. At present, most of the numerical research of human nasal cavity focused on the distribution of velocity, pressure, temperature and humidity, and the effect of configuration difference. What's more, the CFD technology can also be used to simulate the patterns of particle deposition in the nasal cavity. This article reviews the recent progress of the numerical investigation on the human nasal cavity. Key words: Nasal Cavity; physical field; solid and gas two-phase flow; micron-nanometer particles; numerical simulation
