Abstract

The intermittent catheterization is the first choice for the treatment of the neurogenic bladder dysfunction after spinal cord injury. The review summarizes the application background of the intermittent catheterization, the type of common urinary catheters, the implementation of the intermittent catheterization, the common complications and preventive measures of the intermittent catheterization. The specific problems in the application of the intermittent catheterization were discussed, which provides reference for the guidance of the neurogenic bladder patients with spinal cord injury.
