Abstract

As an important immunosuppressive molecule, indole-amine 2, 3-dioxygenase (IDO) plays an important role in immune tolerance during transplantation and tumor-induced immunosuppression. It has been shown that IDO is highly expressed in breast cancer.By inhibiting NK cells and effector T cells, IDO promotes the infiltration of regulatory T cells (Treg) and induces angiogenesis in breast cancer, which makes it possible for cancer cells to evade immune surveillance, accelerate tumor growth and metastasis promoting the progress of the course of breast cancer. Therefore the study on specific mechanism that IDO was involved in immunological tolerance of breast cancer has the important significance for therapeutic strategy of breast cancer. Key words: Indoleamine 2, 3-dioxygenase; Breast cancer; Immune tolerance
