Abstract

More than 100 years has passed since Oppenheim firstly named the term in 1911, the definition of which that adopted by doctors is outdated and the classification is not specific. Albanese, et al proposed the new definition and classification of dystonia in 2013, which help a lot to guide diagnosis and treatment of dystonia. Recently, there have been new development and recognition on the diagnosis and treatment of dystonia. This review summarizes the definition, classification, diagnosis and treatment of dystonia.
