Abstract

Nanographene oxide, one of graphene oxide derivatives and a novel two-dimensional carbon nanomaterial, has become a popular research topic in nanomedicine due to its unique properties such as ultra-high surface-to-volume ratio and great photothermal effect. It contains a large amount of reactive chemical groups, including carboxy group, carbonyl group, hydroxyl group and epoxy group, which enable its easy biological and chemical functionalization and excellent biocompatibility. Therefore,it has potential applications in biomedical field. This paper briefly describes the preparation and functionalization of nanographeme oxide, and then mainly focuses on its application studies in the biomedical field, including in vitro and in vivo toxicity tests and advanced research progress of tumor imaging and treatment.
