Abstract

Late-onset hypogonadism(LOH)is an aging-related syndrome with representative clinical manifestations.It has a serious impact on men’s reproductive health and quality of life and is characterized by a deficiency in serum testosterone levels.Decline in Leydig cell number and function is the chief etiological factor.Changes in the biological activity of male hormones, androgen receptor abnormalities and hypothalamic-pituitary-testicular axis feedback regulation dysfunction underliethe pathogenesis of LOH.Research directed at identifying safe and effective treatment methods for LOH will bring highly valuable development.
