the efficient and rational use of power big data can provide a large number of high added value service businesses for the industry, and plays an important role in improving the economic income and business innovation level of power enterprises. On the basis of consulting and analyzing relevant literatures at home and abroad, this paper combs the source, basic characteristics and economic characteristics of power big data, and expounds the external application scope of power big data in combination with the external application value of power big data and the current "digital new infrastructure" policy; At the same time, combining the external application value of power big data, four types of external value-added services are expanded for reference. Power big data can be divided into internal data and external data. Internal data mainly comes from the data generated by the internal operation of power grid enterprises, involving various data such as power grid operation, equipment management, marketing services and enterprise management; External data mainly comes from social and public service departments, involving power grid services, emergency response, crisis public relations and other aspects. The role of big data analysis in information security, operation service, load forecasting, line loss management, equipment maintenance and other aspects within the power grid has been studied and discussed by many power enterprises or researchers. However, the value of big data analysis in external value-added services is rarely discussed. In order to effectively improve the economic benefits and service quality of electric power enterprises, this paper will study the value and application of big data analysis in the external value-added service of electric power.
