Abstract
In order to improve the electro-actuation, corrosion resistance and antioxidation performance of Ag-IPMC, Polypyrrole modified electrode IPMC (PPy-Ag-IPMC) was prepared by cyclic voltammetry in this paper. The effect of the polymerization segment number on the performance of PPy-Ag-IPMC was studied, the optimal polymerization segment number obtained was 70 segments, the maximum output displacement was 0.41 cm, and the maximum output force was 107.86 mN. In comparison with Ag-IPMC (the maximum output displacement of Ag-IPMC is 0.30±0.05cm and the maximum output force is 90.6±1mN, the maximum output displacement and maximum output force are increased by 36% and 21%, respectively. The corrosion potential of PPy-Ag-IPMC is 0.059V, the corrosion current density is 8.13×10−7A/cm2, and the corrosion rate is 3.276×10−3g/m2h, which is much better than the traditional IPMC material (Ag-IPMC) in corrosion resistance capacity.
