Abstract

Young teachers are the main force for the future development of universities and colleges. For individual young teachers, the degree of career satisfaction exerts a direct influence on their working enthusiasm. A questionnaire survey is conducted among 300 young teachers from 8 universities and colleges in China to study the relationship between mentoring relationship and the career satisfaction of young teachers in universities and colleges as well as the moderating effect of gender on such relationship. Results indicate that mentoring relationship has a significant positive effect on the career satisfaction of young teachers in universities and colleges. In addition, gender as a moderating variable moderates the relationship between mentoring relationship and young teachers' career satisfaction.
