Improving the quality of teaching in Colleges and universities is related to the survival and development of colleges and universities. Every year the freshmen of the new school have to set up a computer public basic course. The effect of the course is related to the students’ ability to understand the basic knowledge of the computer and the common computer operation technology, to improve the students’ ability to acquire new knowledge, to cultivate the quality of computer culture, and to adapt to the future work. It needs to be done. There are many problems in the traditional teaching method of computer public basic course, which can’t meet the requirements of the new era and new technology. In view of the current computer public basic course teaching in Colleges and universities, the MOOC online course teaching platform based on edX technology is set up to carry out the mixed teaching reform of the flipping class hall, and to solve the traditional calculation. The problems existing in the teaching of public basic courses are not only beneficial to the traditional teaching mode, but also can improve the teaching effect and improve the quality of teaching.
