Abstract
The rise of the digital economy has profoundly influenced urban agglomeration, highlighting regional advantages and shaping future development trajectories. This paper delves into the complex dynamics of the agglomeration effect in the digital economy era, focusing on its geographical, economic, social, and environmental implications in China. With over 1.5 million college graduates entering the workforce annually, the rapid transformation of industrial structures and the polarization of urban agglomeration present significant challenges and opportunities for individuals and society. This study offers an in-depth analysis of how population expansion affects cities, industries, and individual livelihoods, drawing on historical data and experiences to provide a comprehensive context. It explores the patterns and drivers of urban migration and agglomeration, offering insights into the underlying motivations, psychological factors, and trends that shape these movements. By examining the urban agglomeration effect and population migration in the digital economy, this paper aims to elucidate current social phenomena and provide informed conjectures on the future trajectory of urban development in this rapidly evolving economic landscape.
