Introduction

Screening dot is the basic unit to form printing tone level and to reproduce colour in printing process [1, 2]. It is the basic unit of halftone image. Tone level reproduction, and image texture reproduction are determined by the screening properties in colour printing [3, 4]. Dot gain causes the loss of contrast, tinting of shadow tone area, and the sudden change of tone level or colour [8, 9]. Dot gain within a control to a certain extent is good to colour reproduction
