Abstract

The researches on the disaster prevention and mitigation play significant role in the medium and small but economically-developed basins lied in the southeast coast of China for its frequent occurrence of flood disasters. As a case study on Dawang flood control protection region in Guangdong Province, the dynamic one-dimensional and two-dimensional coupling hydrodynamic model was taken to construct real time flood simulation model of flood protected zone, calculated flood routing process by setting typical breaches or real-time settings under different conditions of design standards or any upstream water, and carried out the model calibration, verification and analysis combined with the regional historical flood information. Furthermore, the flood simulation technology is applied in flood hazard mapping, constructs the dynamic flood risk mapping framework, this study creates conditions for the dynamic updating of flood hazard mapping, improve the accuracy of flood hazard mapping, provide strong support of high-speed decisions for the flood control and disaster reduction of the medium and small river basin.
