Abstract

The primary frequency modulation of the hydropower unit can quickly provide power support when the power grid suddenly changes in load, improve the reliability and stability of the power system; adjust the short-term load fluctuation to reduce the action of the secondary frequency modulation, optimize the system scheduling, and stabilize the power grid, frequency. This paper first introduces the main function of primary frequency modulation of power system and the characteristics and requirements of primary frequency regulation of hydropower unit. It points out the main problems of primary frequency modulation performance test and its application in hydropower unit, and systematically expounds the principle of primary frequency modulation of hydropower unit. And its implementation. Then, according to the problems of primary frequency modulation function optimization and performance test of hydropower unit, based on the operation characteristics of Liaoning hydropower plant, an improved scheme for primary frequency performance test of medium and large hydropower units is proposed. And the system’s primary frequency modulation performance digital simulation. Finally, the conclusions of the actual engineering reference value and guiding significance of the primary frequency modulation performance and its influencing factors of the hydropower unit of Liaoning Power Plant are obtained.
