Abstract
The clean renewable energy integrate into distribution network with high penetration has become one of the main trends in the development of power grid, which has changed the original single power grid structure of the distribution network. In particular, unlike the synchronous generator, the distributed wind power presents different fault transient characteristics, making traditional current protection difficult to adapt. Protection of Active Distribution Lines Should Be Re-researched. The characteristic of the equivalent positive negative sequence impedance amplitude characteristic is different from them of the traditional synchronous power supply by analyzing the fault characteristics of doubly fed induction generator(DFIG). Therefore, the principle of pilot protection based on the difference of the magnitude of the equivalent sequence impedance between the two sides of the distribution line is proposed to identify the fault area. The simulation model of distribution system with DFIG is built on the EMTDC/PSCAD electromagnetic transient simulation software. The simulation results show that the proposed method can operate correctly with different fault type, fault resistance, fault position and DIFG output, and it can adapt to various operating conditions sensitively and effectively.
