Abstract

Existing climbing operation platforms for pylon column construction of long-span concrete bridges are less automatic, time-consuming, and lack effective, centralized, and intelligent safety parameter monitoring devices. In order to study the intelligent safety control systems for the hydraulic climbing formwork of long-span bridge pylons, this paper, taking the Beikou Bridge South Pylon Construction Project as an example, conducts the automatic control research of the hydraulic climbing formwork. Considering the low climbing efficiency of the traditional climbing formwork, great shakes during climbing operations, and poor safety experience, it also proposes an intelligent upgrade of the hydraulic climbing formwork. The proposed multi-point hydraulic synchronous self-adaptive control system, visual monitoring, and wireless communication technologies decrease the single climbing time by 60% and the labor force by 50%, achieving the safety and efficiency of main pylon construction of long-span bridges and providing intelligent technical support and construction experience for subsequent projects of similar nature.
