Abstract

A hybrid-loop servo control system is presented to apply on a double toggle mechanical press directly driven by AC servo motor for achieving controllable and flexible process. Based on the analysis of the driving system of servo press, the mathematical model of it is established, and then the whole structure of the servo system is determined. According to the slider trajectory curve of specific manufacture process, the reference signal of motor angle is obtained by feed forward controller, and then sliding mode control and fuzzy control technology are applied to design the slider position error compensation and the motor angle position controller. Simulation of the system is conducted, which indicates the system exhibiting well robustness and stability under impact load disturbance. Finally the hybrid-loop servo control system is constructed on the mechanical press, and then cylindrical drawing processes of three different materials are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the proposed system, thereby providing a practical solution for realizing various flexible processes on this double toggle mechanical press.
