Abstract

The coverage area of each wireless access point in the wireless network is limited, and the handoff problem occurs when the mobile station monitors the movement. Handoff will lead to large signal delay, jitter and even network interruption. In multimedia services such as video surveillance and VoIP, the communication delay caused by handoff delay time greater than 50ms can be clearly felt by people, so as to improve the user experience of mobile station s. Therefore, it is particularly important to reduce the handoff delay and ensure the quality of service of multimedia services in wireless network mobile video surveillance system. In order to meet the requirements of handoff delay time, this paper uses the idea of neighbor graph for reference, uses GPS positioning information to establish neighbor table, and combined with zero dwell time fast handoff algorithm, proposes a neighbor table zero dwell time algorithm based on GPS. The theoretical calculation shows that the scanning delay time of this algorithm is smaller than that of the commonly used handoff algorithm.
