Abstract

In order to reveal the deformation and failure mechanism of surrounding rock of deep layered roadway, the deformation field of physical model experiment of surrounding rock of roadway with 45 degree dip angle is monitored by digital image correlation (DIC) method, and the deformation and failure process is analyzed. In view of the difficulties in monitoring and early warning of surrounding rock deformation and failure disaster, based on DIC, a new method for identifying the precursor information of surrounding rock failure called image coefficient of variation (ICV) is proposed, taking the displacement change and displacement change rate in the deformation field obtained from DIC analysis as calculation individuals, the ICV is obtained by calculating the whole field coefficient of variation (CV). The research shows that the DIC method is an effective non-contact deformation monitoring method in the tunnel roadway physical model experiment. Through comparative analysis, it is found that the variation trend of ICV curve can be used as the precursor information of roadway surrounding rock failure, which provides a new early warning index for roadway surrounding rock instability disaster.
