Abstract

Objective To investigate the ethical decision-making ability and its influencing factors in clinical nursing, in order to improve the ethical decision-making ability and nursing quality in clinical nursing. Methods Totally 338 clinical nurses in four tertiary comprehensive hospitals of Shenyang were selected as the research object, and the judgment about nursing decision (JAND, 2007 edition) was used to conduct the survey. Results The total JAND questionnaire score was (296.37±14.23) points; dimensions of ethical action and ethical selection were (162.23±8.02) points and (134.14±6.20) points. Multivariate regression analysis indicated that, the method to obtain professional knowledge among many factors affected the total score much more; the education and whether receiving the ethical decision-making ability training came the second. Conclusions Clinical nurses′ nursing ethical decision-making ability should be improved through professional knowledge learning and training, so as to improve the quality of clinical nursing.
