Abstract

Batik is a traditional printing and dyeing technique that uses dyeing techniques to create patterns by applying wax to fabric as a dye-resistant medium. As the crystallization of human wisdom, batik has a unique style and connotation in China, Malaysia, and other places. As one of the world cultural heritage, batik technology not only has a long history and brilliant achievements, but also shows a unique artistic charm. This study aims to compare and explore the batik patterns of Guizhou and Malaysia through a mixture of quantitative and qualitative methods and digitalize and analyze their cultural genes. By revealing the commonalities and differences between the batik patterns in Guizhou and Malaysia, we can better understand the cultural significance behind these patterns and provide useful references for the protection and inheritance of cultural heritage.
