Abstract
Axial compressive test of high-strength concrete prism specimens confined by high-strength stirrups are carried out. The yield strength of stirrups, volumetric stirrup ratio and concrete strength are investigated for the impact of pressure performance. The results show that the confined concrete specimens with high stirrup ratio, high strength, exhibits good ductility. The use of high-strength stirrups is an effective measure to prevent a sudden drop in the falling section of the high-strength concrete stress-strain curve; under the circumstances, the application of high-strength stirrups can reduce the volumetric stirrup ratio.
