Research on Application of Image Processing and Analysis Techniques in ITS

Abstract

Traffic video images have been widely applied in the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). Meanwhile, image blurring, backward image processing techniques, low-level application and other problems still exist. The profound application of image technology, in continuous combination with artificial intelligence and other disciplines, is gaining momentum, and such theoretical technologies as image pattern recognition, behavior identification and image comprehension are also developing maturely into engineering applications. In this paper we elaborate on the existing application problems of traffic video images in ITS and the research orientations and make a relatively comprehensive analysis of engineering application of image processing and analysis techniques into traffic video images.
