Abstract

The improved sliding mode observer based sensorless control is proposed for the segmented permanent magnet synchronous linear motor system, which is alternately powered by two separate drives. When the mover locates within one segment stator, the sensorless control based the improved sliding mode observer is proposed to guarantee the speed control performance. When the mover locates between two segment stators, the pre-estimate speed based sensorless control is proposed to achieve the mover position detection. The resulting sensorless control has excellent medium-/high-speed sensorless control performance, which is also verified by the simulations.
