Abstract
In order to solve poor end-to-end throughput resulted from wireless signal interference in Wireless Mesh Networks (WMN),a topology control algorithm was proposed. The algorithm was carried out by minimizing the maximum collision domain load to construct a network topology. The proposed algorithm reduced the interference to improve the spatial reuse of the channel by adjusting the transmission power of each node, which would give rise to the improved network throughput. Finally, the simulation results which used load of maximum collision domain as metric show that the performances of wireless mesh networks can be substantially improved by topology control.
