Abstract

This thesis aims to explore the significances and possibilities of the combination of OpenGL_ES and GIS, which is very important for earthquake engineering. In the process of study OpenGL_ES applications, two dominating functions, lighting and texture, which embody the 3d modeling drawing ability are mainly researched, and systematically verified. It's confirmed that OpenGL would have great developing space when combined with GIS.This thesis, based on the application of OpenGL_ES, downloads and runs the OpenGl_ES lighting and texture program on TF-GENE1270 pad, and experiment has been done on lighting and texture functions to test the possiibility with combination softwares. Druing the application of GIS software, in consideration of the Powerful drawing function of OpenGL_ES, it can be used for the visualization of geological data management, and man-machine interactive three-dimensional entity model can be generated. It is very important to the development of 3d GIS.
