Abstract

The utilization of fossil fuels makes great challenge in the environment and aggravates the global warming. As a result, it is rather significant to use renewable energy and develop advanced energy utilization technologies. It’s necessary to study the characteristic of biomass staged-gasification. The paper set up a staged-gasification system, which mainly contained biomass pyrolysis and two-staged entrained-flow bed. Influence factors were studied including gasification temperature and first gasification time, and measured the tar content by cold trap method (CT). The results showed that staged-gasification and increasing temperature could improve the hydrogen content. The optimum condition was the first gasification time at 0.6s and gasification temperature at 1100°C. The result was best in this conditions, hydrogen content could higher 8% than traditional gasification, and gasification efficiency up to 75%, carbon conversion up to 96.3%. Moreover, the tar content was decreased from 5.46g/m3 to 50mg/m3.
