Abstract
Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) has widely applied in dental procedures at present days compared with computed tomography (CT). The artifacts caused by beam hardening phenomenon can affect the quality of image after reconstruction. And this would affect the diagnosis of diseases of patients. Some techniques from the hardware and software proposed by researchers can efficiently reduce the beam hardening artifacts in CT system. However, very few of these techniques have been introduced to counteract this artifact in CBCT system. In present study, we introduced single energy beam spectral intensity to CBCT system to reduce beam hardening artifacts. The established spectral function based on the phantom has a great potential in eliminate beam hardening artifacts in CBCT images.
