Abstract

Water steam is widely applied in various fields of industry and heat power engineering. The article shows a wide application of water steam in heat-and-power engineering. In this regard, the issue of preserving and controlling the dryness of steam during its transportation via steam lines remains relevant. Quite detailed theoretical studies of steam parameters during its flow in the pipe have been performed. A comparative analysis of steam velocity and temperature plots depending on certain flow parameters and accepted approximations is performed. The analysis presented that gas-dynamic and thermodynamic processes can be considered approximately. This does not play a fundamental role in the general patterns of dropping liquid. As a result of numerical studies of the steam condensation kinetics, the specific volume and density of drop condensate along the pipe section are determined. The obtained results and the proposed methodological approach for determining the parameters of steam were used in the development and further improvement of the device for measuring the dryness of steam, the original construction of which was proposed earlier by one of the authors. The article presents the functional diagram and layout of the measuring unit of the gauge.
