Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of psychological care in improving adverse emotional state and quality of life for ophthalmology patients. Methods 240 cases of patients from March 2009 to March 2011 treated in our hospital were chosen as the research object.All patients were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group with 120 patients in each group.The control group was given conventional methods of eye nursing.The patients in the observation group were taken psychological care based on the conventional nursing.The score of self-rating anxiety scale (SAS),self-rating depression scale (SDS),SF-36 score and satisfaction degree 1 day before discharge for the two groups were compared. Results The results showed that after treatment,SAS,SDS,SF-36 score were significantly improved compared with before treatment in the two groups.The difference was significant before and after treatment.The improvement level in the observation group was significantly higher than the control group.There was significant difference between the two groups in the improvement level.The satisfaction degree in the observation group was significantly higher than the control group,the difference between the two groups was significant. Conclusions Psychological care for ophthalmology patients can effectively improve the patients' negative emotional state and their quality of life.
