Abstract

Carcinogenesis is a matter of intense study and active debate. A recent paper published in Clinical Cancer Research focused on an interesting subject, namely the multistep process of carcinogenesis that involves, besides oncogenes and tumor suppressors, the metabolic pathways. The same group first published the identification of a component of glycolytic metabolism, lactate dehydrogenase B (LDHB), as a gene involved in triple-negative breast cancer. When investigating patients with breast cancer they demonstrated that patients presenting high tumor LDHB expression have a poor clinical outcome MiRNA interactions as a novel molecular panel for clinical outcome of glioblastoma
