Abstract
In this paper the author firstly presents a brief review of research and training in higher education in international perspective, and then mainly describes the state of the art of research and training in higher education worldwide in terms of higher education research and information infrastructures, institutional research, and the education of administrative estate. And finally future trends of research and training in higher education the world over are prospected.
