Abstract

With the development of microgrid, how to improve synchronization performance of microgrid communication system is becoming more and more important. IEEE1588 precision time synchronization protocol can be applied to improve synchronization accuracy of microgrid Ethernet communication system to nanosecond. In this paper, several commonly time synchronization methods used in the conventional power system are compared with IEEE1588, and the IEEE1588 clock synchronization protocol principle is analyzed. At same time, Clock synchronization system based on STM32F407 is designed. It presents two ways to adjust the clock and tests synchronization accuracy by vector-frequency adjustment method. The result shows that the synchronization accuracy can be achieved within 200ns; it fully meets demand of the microgrid system for time synchronization accuracy.
