Abstract

Reducing aerodynamic drag of commercial vehicle is an important way to realize energy saving and consumption reduction for vehicle.Hereby,all kinds of factors influencing the aerodynamic drag of commercial vehicle are researched by using computational fluid dynamics(CFD) analysis and wind tunnel test,including the influence of dome style,distance between cabin and loading platform,and side aprons.According to the above research,the drag reducing mechanism is analyzed.The research results indicate that using various aerodynamic drag reduction measures properly on commercial vehicle with loading platform can reduce aerodynamic drag significantly,and realize energy saving and consumption reduction effectively.All the proposed drag reduction measures are practically used in the products,and their effectiveness of drag reduction and energy saving is validated.
