Abstract
This paper discusses the various requirements to be fulfilled in the design of high-performance reconfigurable reflectarray (RRA) cells. We first explain how such cells should be characterized with regard to the reflectarray performance, based on typical result examples. Then, we discuss the fundamental tradeoffs between different requirements and some strategies to overcome these limitations. (6 pages)
