Abstract
La comprensión y estudio del decoro, tal lo como lo concibió el alto clero urbano, supone un elemento importante para el estudio social de este colectivo. Para ello, se hace necesario estudiar cómo este grupo entendió y desarrolló el concepto de decoro en sus vidas cotidianas pero, también, cómo las propias instituciones religiosas procuraron que se cumpliera la debida etiqueta social. Así, la defensa del decoro ocupó un lugar primordial dentro del esperado saber estar y para ello el alto clero urbano utilizó todos los instrumentos posibles, incluida la violencia.
