Abstract

ABSTRACTThe international conference was dedicated to Polish and the Polish diaspora’s writing heritage in foreign collections. Its aim was to summarize research on Polish and the Polish diaspora’s book and manuscript collections, and on polonica materials incorporated into these foreign collections. We tried to define the current importance of these materials for the history of the Polish book and to determine the current situation and future prospects for their registration, documentation, and scientific exploration. Research areas of the conference included Polish and polonica collections abroad; the registration of Polish book collections, valuable polonica and other sources for the history of Polish books in foreign collections; registration and documentation in Polish and foreign libraries including reference, documentation, and source materials (inventories, catalogues, databases, guides, etc.); studies of source materials for knowledge about the history of the Polish book; and biographies of specialists on Polish books abroad.
