Abstract

On April 17-18, 2023, in Warsaw, the conference 'Ius ex silico: Artificial Intelligence in the Service of Justice' took place. The choice of this topic was not random, as artificial intelligence (AI) is currently one of the most widely discussed subjects worldwide and has become an essential element of supporting solutions in significant societal issues, including healthcare, security, and the justice system. In the latter area, it can contribute to expediting proceedings, facilitating case management, and enhancing the quality of judgments. Therefore, the Ministry of Justice (referred to as MS), recognizing the importance of this topic, decided to organize the conference titled 'Ius ex silico: Artificial Intelligence in the Service of Justice.' The organizers aimed to intensify discussions about potential applications of artificial intelligence in the Polish justice system, gather and share knowledge and prior experiences with participants. Additionally, the conference served as an attempt to answer which of the selected digital solutions should be implemented first.
