Abstract

We appreciate the interest of the colleagues in our publication, and we are pleased to give more details concerning our study. Evaluation of Symptoms and Methodology of the Urodynamic Study MatterJournal of Minimally Invasive GynecologyVol. 22Issue 4PreviewWe read with great interest the article by Spagnolo et al, which investigated bowel and urinary function in patients with posterior deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE) before and after surgical nerve-sparing excision [1]. Patients underwent urodynamic studies and anorectal manometry to assess bowel and urinary function before and after nerve-sparing laparoscopic excision of posterior DIE. Posterior DIE is a bothersome condition frequently associated with severe pain symptoms (dysmenorrhea, deep dyspareunia, chronic pelvic pain, and dyschezia), which consistently deteriorates patients' quality of life [2,3].
