Abstract

Responding to the previous Comment we quote the exact spin $g$ values of conduction electrons in bulk GaAs resulting from the three-level $\mathbf{P}∙\mathbf{p}$ model (3LM). We show that the approximate description of Ivchenko and Kiselev based on 3LM considerably overestimates the $g$ values for the interesting region of large ${k}_{z}$. We conclude that the three-level $\mathbf{P}∙\mathbf{p}$ model does not give an adequate description of orbital and spin electron energies in bulk GaAs and in $\mathrm{Ga}\mathrm{As}∕{\mathrm{Ga}}_{1\ensuremath{-}x}{\mathrm{Al}}_{x}\mathrm{As}$ quantum wells.
