Abstract

This paper proposes a repetitive control-based method to further reduce the dc source current ripple for switched reluctance motor (SRM) drive. Conventional SRM drives usually utilize a large capacitor on the dc bus to absorb the fluctuating energy caused by current commutation. Integrated multi-port power converter (IMPC) is a new topology that can largely reduce capacitance requirement compared to conventional SRM drives. Despite that, harmonic currents still exist on the dc source because of the limitation of linear multi-loop control method. Based on the theoretical analysis of the harmonics, a repetitive control-based advanced power flow control method is proposed in this paper to improve the control performance of the IMPC. The necessity for repetitive control is stated and the controller based on repetitive control is designed. Simulation and experimental results verify its feasibility and superior performance.
