Abstract
Abstract A procedure of problem structuring is proposed and illustrated that is grounded in George Kelly's constructivist theory and uses his repertory grid technique. The procedure makes use of the implications of Kelly's creativity cycle. It integrates individual cognitive processes into social processes in groups to foster creativity. A hierarchical cluster analysis algorithm is used to cluster elements, and the clustering patterns of elements are interpreted to develop models of the problem. In a case study, the procedure was found to be an effective application of Kelly's theory and technique in problem structuring.
