Abstract

We show that there is a bijection between the renormalizations andproper completely invariant closed sets of expanding Lorenz map,which enables us to distinguish periodic and non-periodicrenormalizations. Based on the properties of the periodic orbit withminimal period, the minimal completely invariant closed set isconstructed. Topological characterizations of the renormalizationsand $\alpha$-limit sets are obtained via consecutiverenormalizations. Some properties of periodic renormalizations arecollected in Appendix.
