Abstract
Environmental surfaces (ES) may play a role in the transmission of healthcare-associated pathogens. Moreover, effectiveness of cleaning and disinfection (CD) of ES at many healthcare facilities has been shown to be suboptimal. This was significantly improved via implementation of pragmatic approach that includes measuring cleanliness using a fluorescent marker. In this study we evaluated the correlation between removal of certain pathogens and removal of fluorescent marker from hard surfaces using proper disinfection methodology.
