Abstract
The adsorption kinetics followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. Intraparticle diffusion modeling showed that intraparticle diffusion is not be the only mechanism that influenced the rate of ions uptake. Thermodynamic parameters such as ΔG°, ΔH°, and ΔS° showed that the sorption process was spontaneous and endothermic in nature. The adsorption of Pb(II) on the surface of adsorbent was found to be maximum of 80% at optimal concentration of 10 mg/L, contact time of 90 min, adsorbent dosage of 3 mg/l and pH of 6. Therefore, bamboo leaves are potential precursor for the preparation of biochar.
