Abstract
A widely agreed fact is that the early years of a child’s life can be a strong predictor of their development, but an often-forgotten category of children is Looked-After Children (LAC) ( Harvard University, 2022 ). In the first article in a three part series, Emma Gillespie, early years educator, shares the research from her dissertation which looks at the impact of being a child in care on an individual’s early social and emotional development.
