Abstract

Although many articles and books have been written about remedial reading, only a few studies have delved into the prob lem of where and how remedial reading programs are being con ducted. This paper includes part of the data obtained from a questionnaire survey of 76 clinics. * Many of the clinics survey ed are affiliated with institutions of higher learning; a few are independent organizations; and some are organized in depart ments of public instruction. The following topics are discussed: individual and group in struction for remedial reading, amount of time devoted to such help, psychiatric treatment available, student participation in conferences, case studies, home visits and follow-up of pupils.
