Abstract

Remedial action based on the radon entry reduction in buildings, such as soil depressurisation, crawl space depressurisation and crawl space ventilation have been applied to four Italian houses and compared. Results have shown that house structure is an important factor in determining the success of the remedial action, but also composition and characteristics of the soil, particularly with respect to the permeability, are very important.
