Abstract
Ti6Al4V alloys have been applied in hard tissue implantation fields. However, their poor wear resistance has been considered as an important factor for aseptic loosening of implants. This limited its application in the biomedical fields. In this work, a chitosan-MXene hydrogel coating was designed and constructed on the surface of Ti6Al4V alloys. The tribological and anticorrosion properties of the hydrogel coating under simulated body fluid (SBF) solution were tested. The results showed that CS-MXene-0.3% hydrogel coating has excellent tribological performance and corrosion resistance properties, with the reduction of the friction coefficient by 78.33% and corrosion inhibition efficiency of 98.79%. This study provides a potential surface modification method for titanium alloy bone implants.
